Much delayed! It's tax time here at Chez KFP, and when you own your own business that's a lot more time consuming than filling out the old 1040EZ. Updates are going to be a wee bit slower for the rest of this month, probably. But hey, Batman's got nothing on the Midnight Avenger! How bout that amazing cape of tricks, eh?

I was talking about the storyline with my wife, and she asked if having gadgets wasn't more of a Christopher thing to do. I said no, that I wanted to show that George was pretty clever on his own, and also that, had it been Christopher, he would have rigged traps all over the town well in advance rather than jumping into a situation with a homemade cape full of marbles. But it's a moot point, as Christopher would much rather stay home watching monster movies than be out fighting injustice.

Who was that masked man?!

Funny you mention that, because the Midnight Avenger is modeled much more on the Lone Ranger than on modern superheroes.

Great sequence, THEM, one of my favorites growing up.

THEM! is still one of my mother's most terrifying movies ever. She saw it as a girl and it freaked her out for life. It's like her Alien.

As a young kid I read one Mr miracle comic. It was amazing. Something about him having to escape from being bound to a rocket sled before it reached the end of the track and detailed. I remember the writing was funny to; a lot of busy woman and lines like "Chicky booby baby." From the antagonists. Ah, the 70s.

Oh, and speaking of movies messing people up, I saw Cronenberg's "They Come From Within" double-billed with "Squirm" when I was 10. It ducked me up bad. I couldn't eat normally or go near worms for about years after that.

Ha! We watched Squirm recently, in France. What an utterly bizarre flick that was. And yep, Mister Miracle comics were fun. I remember them as being one of the few DC titles that I really enjoyed, alongside the original Swamp Thing run.

Crap. My previous post is full of typos. Your comment form isn't liking my nexus 7.

This reminds me of Kickass!

It isn't going to be as violent as Kickass. I'm shooting for a more "Boys' Own Adventure" feel instead of the OTT carnage of Kickass. More humor, less beatings with meat hammers.
